In a warm and rainy June, Mayme is out of school, working hard around the house, and hanging out with her friends around town.
Ice cream suppers seem to be a favorite activity, followed closely by the lost art of hemstitching, ironing, and stealing roses. Fannie Teets got married. Mayme did not yet know that Fannie would become her sister-in-law in 17 years.
Editor’s note: Installment seven, July 1901, will be posted in July.
